Egg and Sperm Freezing at Vindana

Preserve Your Fertility. Define Your Timeline.

Life rarely unfolds on a perfectly predictable schedule. Whether you are focused on your career, waiting for the right relationship, facing a medical challenge, or simply not ready to start a family yet — egg and sperm freezing offers a powerful way to protect your fertility options and give your future self more choices. At Vindana IVF and Fertility Care Hospital, we provide expert egg and sperm freezing services for individuals of all backgrounds and life circumstances, using state-of-the-art vitrification techniques and compassionate, non-judgmental care.

Egg Freezing (Oocyte Cryopreservation)

Egg freezing, or oocyte cryopreservation, allows women to have their eggs retrieved, frozen, and stored for use at a future time. Because egg quality is closely linked to age — particularly ovarian reserve and chromosomal integrity of eggs — freezing eggs at a younger age can meaningfully preserve reproductive potential for use years later, when conception might otherwise be more challenging.

The process begins with ovarian stimulation, typically over 10–14 days, during which hormone injections encourage the ovaries to develop multiple follicles. Regular ultrasound monitoring and hormone blood tests allow our team to track follicle growth and determine the optimal timing for egg retrieval. The retrieval itself is a minor day procedure performed under light sedation, after which the eggs are immediately assessed, maturity-graded, and vitrified in our embryology laboratory.

Egg freezing is particularly recommended for women who wish to delay childbearing for personal or professional reasons (elective fertility preservation), those diagnosed with cancer or other conditions requiring gonadotoxic treatment, and those with a family history of early menopause or diminishing ovarian reserve. It is also an option for women undergoing IVF who have ethical or personal objections to embryo freezing.

Sperm Freezing (Sperm Cryopreservation)

Sperm freezing allows men to have a semen sample — or multiple samples — processed and stored for future use in fertility treatment. It is a relatively simple and non-invasive procedure, yet one that can make a profound difference in a man's reproductive future.

Sperm freezing is recommended for a range of situations: men about to undergo cancer treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy) that could impair sperm production; men with a progressive condition affecting sperm quality or production over time; men who will be unavailable or unable to provide a sample on the day of a partner's fertility treatment; men scheduled for a vasectomy who wish to preserve future options; and transgender women who wish to preserve sperm before beginning hormone therapy.

The process is straightforward — a semen sample is provided at our clinic, processed in our andrology laboratory to assess quality and concentrate the motile fraction, and then cryopreserved in multiple vials to maximise the utility of the stored specimen. When required, sperm can be used in IUI, IVF, or ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) procedures.

Storage, Consent & Long-Term Support

At Vindana, all frozen eggs and sperm are stored in our secure, monitored cryostorage facility under stringent quality control protocols. Patients undergo comprehensive consent counselling before any freezing procedure, covering topics such as storage duration, what happens to stored material in unforeseen circumstances, and the options available should plans change.

Freezing your eggs or sperm today is an investment in the family you may one day choose to build — on your terms, in your time.

Our fertility counsellors are available to support you through the decision-making process, free from pressure and full of the clear, honest information you deserve. Whatever your reason for considering fertility preservation, Vindana is here to help you make the choice that is right for you.
